The ancestral seat of the Umu-Eri, in the Anambra valley, held to be where Eri settled and where the Ezeora dynasty of Enugwu Aguleri has its line.
Aguleri is the town the Umu-Eri tradition makes its own beginning: Eri is said to have settled at Eri-aka in the Anambra valley within it and to have married there, and the Ezeora dynasty that descends from his eldest son Agulu is seated at Enugwu Aguleri.
It is "Agoleri", spelling the name as it heard it, among the three communities it groups under Umueri — which is why an entry for the town of Aguleri is missing from a registry that has one for its neighbour Umueri and for the fraternity both belong to. The town is also the point at which the tradition places the cutting of the boundary between the Igala and the Igbo, on the Anambra river.
