Its towns are Ogidi, Eziowelli, Abacha, Umunachi and Umudioka.
Two of its communities are tied to other groups: Eziowelli is said, with Abagana and Aba and Nimo, to make up one clan, while Forde & Jones record Umunachi and Umudioka as related to Umudunukofia. Ogidi lies in the Onitsha lowlands, settled by early movement westward out of the uplands into the valley of the Niger.
Meek records that the leading men of Ogidi, Obosi, Nkpo, Nsube, Nkwelle, Oze, Umunya and Ogbunike used to seek the king of Onitsha as arbiter in their disputes and to receive titles from him, giving him occasional gifts; the Onowu of Onitsha claimed for the king every leopard, bush-cow, wart-hog, manatee and hippopotamus killed in those communes, a claim Meek could not confirm.
