Okpala is the first of the three clans that make up the Etche group.
Its towns are Eziama and five other small village groups as constituents. Okpala is also the fourth of the entries known collectively as Ngor, alongside Umuhu, Obike and Emerienwe, and Forde & Jones record no origin tradition for it.
