Orsu is one clan of the Isu, transitional between the Isu-Ama and the Northern Igbo of the Nri-Awka country, and it is Igbo.

Orsu is one clan, not two. It is entered as Orsu I and Orsu II, the one at Osumoghwu, in the country about Ihiala and Nnewi, and the other in the country west of Orlu, and the owner's correction is that these are one clan of the Isu, and the registry now holds it as one entry.

The Orsu are Igbo, in the country west of Orlu, north of Oguta and about the Orsu, Oru East, Oru West, Ihiala, Nnewi South and Oguta local government areas. Their speech is the Orsu dialect, they keep the Iri ji festival and the Ofeke day of 1 January, and their markets include Eke Ubahaze and Eke Ututu. They farm yam, cassava, oil palm and vegetables.

It is counted among the groups transitional between the Isu-Ama and the Northern Igbo of the Nri-Awka country, and among those that may be treated as Western Isu. Its parts are Osumoghwu with four small villages; and, in the second section, Orsu Ala Miri, which is Ihite Owerri and Ihite Nasa with other smaller villages, and Orsu Ekpo, which is Ihioma and Awondemini. Forde & Jones record no origin tradition beyond the Isu for it.

Its towns today include Ihitenansa, Amaruru, Amazu, Amaebu, Amannachi, Awo-Idemili, Asaa Ubirielem, Eziawa, Umuhu Okabia, Orsu Ihiteukwa, Okwu Ufuruaku, Okwu Amaraihe and Okwu Etiti.
