The four communities descended from Iguedo, daughter of Eri, who is remembered as their mother: Ogbunike, Awkuzu, Umuleri and Nando, with Ogboli in Onitsha. The survey prints the group as Umuigwedo and its towns as Ogburike, Umuleru and Nnando; those spellings are the survey's, and the names above are the ones the towns use.
Its towns are Ogbunike, Umuleri and Nando; the older spellings Ogburike, Umuleru, Nnando and Awkuzu are also recorded.
Afigbo records the same group, spelt Umuiguedo, as the communities descended from Nri's only daughter — Awkuzu, Umuleri, Nando and Ogbunike — which he calls the tertiary segments of the Umueri fraternity, alongside the Umunri, the segments descended from Nri himself.
The tradition makes Ogbunike the first son, Awkuzu the second and Umuleri the third, with Nando the last born, where Iguedo is said to have lived and to be buried.
