Histories about Ikem
The archive links no published history to Ikem yet. Its neighbours’ histories are not shown here, because a link to another community is not a history of this one.

Histories that mention Ikem
These are published records whose own words name Ikem. A mention is not a history of Ikem, which is why they are listed here rather than with the histories about it.
Read as: Ikem. Counted where the name is written with a capital, because a lower-case occurrence of a name that is also an ordinary word is the word.

The group is placed in the northern section of the eastern uplands.
The Ikem area, with Ehamufu, Ofemili and the Nike group, is one of the few where good land and a thin population made it worth growing yams for sale outside the district. Forde & Jones record no origin tradition for the group.

Corrections to a community record are reviewed before they are published, and a published record is never silently replaced. The review trail stays visible.
