Histories about Ogboli

The archive links no published history to Ogboli yet. Its neighbours’ histories are not shown here, because a link to another community is not a history of this one.

Histories that mention Ogboli

These are published records whose own words name Ogboli. A mention is not a history of Ogboli, which is why they are listed here rather than with the histories about it.

Read as: Ogboli, Adani. Counted where the name is written with a capital, because a lower-case occurrence of a name that is also an ordinary word is the word.

Two groups in the registry are called Ogboli, and this entry is the Elugu one of the Nsukka country; the other is the Ogboli of Anioma, west of the Niger.

Ogboli is a clan made up of Oguruguru and three small local communities, and Adani is a single village group.

The Ogboli group, together with Enugu-Ezike, is the most northerly of the Elugu settlements. Such settlements are autonomous units, and apart from villages in the north-east that trace their ancestors to various Nsukka communities the group is credited with no tradition of migration from elsewhere.
