Histories that mention Umuhu

These are published records whose own words name Umuhu. A mention is not a history of Umuhu, which is why they are listed here rather than with the histories about it. Records already listed above are not repeated.

Read as: Umuhu. Counted where the name is written with a capital, because a lower-case occurrence of a name that is also an ordinary word is the word.

The group holds itself to be unrelated to any other group.

It belongs to a legend in which four communities that had lived together quarrelled and broke apart to become the Alayi, Item, Igbere and Umuhu of the present day. Village headship is found among the Umuhu, as among the Item and the Igbere.

Corrections to a community record are reviewed before they are published, and a published record is never silently replaced. The review trail stays visible.
